Krrish is widowed father of a young boy Rohit Mehra (Hrithik Roshan), with an uncanny ability to replicate things he sees using his latent telepathic powers. While performing in a school play, Rohit has an accident and loses his eyesight. He is taken to the hospital where he is convinced by Dr. Siddhant Arya (Vivek Oberoi) that he can restore his eyesight. He subsequently takes Rohit with him to his lab, but when the operation is conducted, something goes wrong and Rohit is in danger of losing his life due to unforeseen circumstances . Upset at their son's condition, Rohit's father and Rohit's uncle go to Mumbai. It is revealed that Rohit's father has been in hiding from the police for a murder he had committed. He was the one who had given his eyesight back to Rohit in exchange for his revenge on Dev Inder Singh (Raveena Tandon), a woman, who had murdered her husband and who later killed him. While searching for a drug which can restore eyesight, Dr. Arya comes across Siddhant Priya (Priyanka Chopra), a charming girl from his university. She has the drug Rohit needs but refuses to give it to him unless she knows the identity of Rohit's father. Dr. Arya reveals what he knows about Rohit's father. Siddhant Priya tells Dr. Arya about her past which is connected to Rohit's father (Krrish). The story then goes back in time, showing how Dev Inder Singh was married for her money and that he has connections with crime lord "Jabba". Her sister Radhika (Rekha) is also involved with Jabba, who is now blackmailing Dev Inder Singh, threatening to tell his wife about the affair. He is instructed to kill his wife. He does so, and flees the scene and hides in a place where he meets a sword fighter (Siddhant Arya). He tells Inder Singh to make his own destiny and asks him to fight injustice. He grants him the power of "Krrish". The film returns to present day when Siddhant Priya realises that Dev Inder Singh has returned in the form of Rohit's father. She tells Dr. Arya about her theory, but he rejects this saying that it is just a coincidence. During an argument about Rohit's father, she reveals that they are married, much to Dr. Arya's shock.
